Job Purpose:
The Yard Construction Site Rep will be responsible for overseeing the onshore construction activities in relation to Brownfield fabrication, ensuring all deliverables are met to the highest safety and quality standards. The role involves supervising the fabrication and assembly of modules in the yard, coordinating the construction progress, and interfacing with various project teams to ensure seamless integration and readiness for offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety & Compliance:
- Lead and maintain a culture of zero incidents and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) rules and regulations, fostering a strong safety culture at the yard.
- Promote and comply with safety procedures and applicable international standards during all construction phases.
- Construction & Fabrication Management:
- Supervise and lead the onshore fabrication and Brownfield construction activities.
- Coordinate the yard work sequence, ensuring that all fabrication activities comply with project requirements and are completed on time.
- Oversee the construction and assembly of modules and pre-fabrication components at the yard to ensure readiness for offshore integration.
- Project Coordination & Interface Management:
- Collaborate with project teams, including procurement, commissioning, and construction, to ensure smooth and timely execution of the project.
- Interface with other construction discipline leads to ensure the correct sequencing and integration of work.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to the yard, coordinating with the material coordinator to track progress.
- Risk & Schedule Management:
- Actively manage and assess risks to ensure project delivery on schedule.
- Coordinate and adjust the construction schedule to meet offshore integration deadlines.
- Participate in risk assessments and technical reviews, ensuring that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Resource & Team Management:
- Oversee the construction team, ensuring sufficient staffing and resources for all fabrication activities.
- Manage the mobilization of resources and ensure the team is focused on project goals.
- Lead and support the team in problem-solving and maintaining high productivity levels.
- Quality Assurance & Governance:
- Coordinate with the QA/QC Engineer to manage quality control processes during fabrication.
- Ensure all activities comply with the company's quality management system and applicable international standards.
- Supervise the preparation of pre-commissioning dossiers and ensure readiness for offshore activities.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare regular progress reports and schedule updates for the management team.
- Ensure all documentation, including materials and construction reports, is up-to-date and properly maintained.
Key Interactions:
- Internal: Project teams, procurement, commissioning, QA/QC, and other construction disciplines.
- External: Vendors, subcontractors, and third-party service providers.
Working Conditions:
- Based at the construction yard in Sohar, Oman during the fabrication phase, with potential for relocation to Doha for skid assembly.
- Possible international missions to follow up on engineering and EPC execution.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering Construction.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years in the offshore oil and gas industry, with at least 10 years in a yard position focused on pre-commissioning under ICAPS.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of industry best practices in project management and construction.
- Experience working in complex and multicultural environments.
- Familiarity with industry specifications, including NOC or Total General Specifications, MANASA, and relevant codes and standards.
- Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Training: H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET certifications are required.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
