This role involves working within a multi-disciplinary subsurface team within QSSC's Development organization. The primary responsibility is to oversee the successful execution of geological aspects of the drilling, logging, and coring processes on-site.

The Wellsite Geologist will be tasked with ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of geological operations while maintaining a focus on data completeness and integrity. Key experience required includes operational planning and execution of coring activities and knowledge of Middle Eastern carbonate geology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Witness the assembly of coring systems, wireline, and LWD (Logging While Drilling) tools, ensuring proper surface testing is conducted.
  • Perform quality assurance on acquired data, including Mudlogs, LWD/MWD data, cuttings descriptions, and shows.
  • Ensure the correct preparation and handling of drill cuttings and core samples.
  • Supervise core processing at the wellsite, including measuring, marking, logging, processing, and preserving/stabilizing core samples.
  • Generate wireline logging supervision reports and maintain an accurate time breakdown of logging activities.

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in a relevant geoscience or engineering discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of direct geoscience experience.
  • Experience with wellsite drilling, coring, and logging operations is essential.
  • Proficiency in Petrel software, specifically the Well Correlation Package.
  • Prior experience working in the Middle East, particularly with carbonate geology, is preferred.
  • Willingness to work at offshore drilling sites, with all necessary training and certifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in HSSE management, performance improvement, and innovative use of technology and practices.
  • Strong time management skills and self-awareness to manage fatigue during 28-day rotations.

Additional Information:

  • This is a 28/28 rotational position with travel during off days.
  • The role requires the Wellsite Geologist to be on-site for 24-hour periods during the 28-day rotation.
