We are seeking a Technology Senior Expert - CCGT Assets to manage and enhance the performance of our CCGT assets, integrating advanced technologies and strategies to ensure sustainability, regulatory compliance, and profitability.

Role Overview

As a Technology Senior Expert - CCGT Assets, you will lead the operation, optimization, and maintenance of CCGT assets. Your role will involve adopting innovative technologies, implementing sustainability practices, and driving strategic initiatives to maximize asset efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of CCGT assets, ensuring high efficiency, reliability, and adherence to corporate quality guidelines.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize the output and efficiency of CCGT assets using advanced management technologies and practices.
  • Supervise the maintenance programs, ensuring that all activities are planned and executed to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
  • Ensure that all CCGT operations comply with local and international regulatory requirements, staying up-to-date with industry regulations and standards.
  • Implement and oversee sustainability practices to minimize environmental impact and promote long-term sustainability in asset management.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, industry leaders, and technology providers to support operations and expansion.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and development of CCGT assets, aligning with broader organizational goals and asset management strategies.
  • Perform root cause analysis on performance deficiencies and develop actionable plans to address issues and improve efficiency and profitability.

Strategic Contribution

  • Ensure effective cascading of divisional strategy into sectional business plans, ensuring vertical alignment and integration with other strategies.

People Management

  • Lead and manage a high-performing team by setting individual objectives, managing performance, and motivating staff to maximize sectional performance.
  • Collaborate with technical/discipline experts to ensure the availability of the right talent to meet business requirements.

Budgeting and Financial Planning

  • Oversee the preparation of the sectional budget, monitoring financial performance against it, ensuring activities align with approved guidelines.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Lead the development and implementation of department policies, processes, and controls, ensuring compliance with all relevant procedural and legislative requirements.
  • Deliver a quality, cost-effective service through the consistent application of systems and procedures.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, proactively managing change and enhancing department systems, processes, and practices in response to global standards and business needs.

Reporting

  • Ensure that all department reports are accurate and prepared on time, adhering to quality standards and policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, or Business from a reputable university. Preference for candidates with an MBA.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in similar roles within large companies, with at least 4 years in progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Solid people management skills and the ability to lead teams effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the power, energy, and water sectors, including emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Proficiency in English (essential) and Arabic (a plus).
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to engage with senior executives, management teams, and external partners.
  • Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical issues for diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Qatar and GCC culture and working environments.
