Location: Qatar - 65% Onshore / 35% Offshore

Overview
A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced System Completions Lead to join a high-profile energy development project. This is a long-term assignment that plays a critical role in ensuring safe, timely, and efficient handover of major engineering works from construction through to operations.
This role will appeal to individuals with a strong background in completions and commissioning within the energy or oil and gas sectors. The successful candidate will have the chance to work across both onshore and offshore project sites, leading key activities in readiness for full mechanical completion and operational start-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for all system completions activities across multi-discipline and multi-project teams.
- Lead the development and implementation of completions philosophies, procedures, and documentation.
- Ensure third-party activities align with project completion and handover objectives.
- Oversee tracking and reporting via a computerised Completion Management System (CMS), ensuring certification and quality benchmarks are met.
- Participate in contract reviews to confirm appropriate procedures are in place and followed.
- Support safety and operability reviews, verifying that safety protocols are embedded throughout the project.
- Attend site during key project phases to monitor completions execution and coordinate closely with contractors and operational teams.
- Guide pre-commissioning, commissioning, walkdowns, punch listing, turnover, and handover processes.
- Implement operational readiness procedures and commissioning strategies to support a smooth transition to permanent operations.
- Maintain clear communication and structured reporting across project functions, ensuring alignment with internal project management frameworks.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (any discipline).
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in system completions within the oil and gas sector.
- Demonstrated capability in managing completions databases and coordinating across multiple workstreams.
- Strong background in managing completions and commissioning in offshore or large-scale remote project environments.
Technical and Behavioural Competencies:
- Proficient in industry-standard CMS tools (e.g., WinPCS, ICAPS, PIMS).
- Advanced understanding of mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning workflows.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Able to lead and mentor teams in dynamic, multicultural project settings.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working under pressure and independently managing complex technical issues.
