Responsibilities:

Sustainability Design Review and Approval:

Review and approve sustainability strategies in design submissions, ensuring compliance with project specifications, local environmental regulations, and international sustainability standards (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).

Assess designs for energy efficiency, water conservation, material selection, and environmental impact, providing expert feedback to optimize sustainability.

Ensure the integration of sustainability principles across all building systems, including renewable energy sources, green building materials, and waste management practices.

Life Cycle Cost Analysis:

Conduct detailed life cycle cost analyses (LCCA) to evaluate the long-term economic and environmental impact of different design options, materials, and systems.

Compare initial capital costs with long-term operational savings, considering energy consumption, maintenance, and replacement costs to ensure cost-effective sustainability solutions.

Provide life cycle cost optimization strategies to reduce overall costs while meeting sustainability goals, balancing performance and budget requirements.

Coordination with Design Teams:

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure sustainability objectives are fully integrated into the project design, construction, and operation phases.

Facilitate communication between the sustainability team and other design professionals, ensuring that all aspects of the project align with sustainability targets and life cycle cost goals.

Quality Control and Compliance:

Implement quality control measures to ensure all designs meet environmental and sustainability standards, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and material use.

Conduct compliance reviews to verify that designs adhere to local green building regulations, environmental laws, and international sustainability certifications.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of sustainability assessments, life cycle cost analyses, design reviews, and certifications, ensuring all documentation is up to date and accessible for audits.

Ensure sustainability performance data is accurately reported and communicated to all stakeholders, providing updates on progress and compliance with sustainability goals.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as the main point of contact for sustainability and life cycle cost queries from the client, ensuring their sustainability goals and cost objectives are reflected in the final design.
