Role Overview

A unique opportunity for an experienced Subsea Package Control Lead to play a key role in a major offshore energy project. This position is responsible for overseeing contracts, planning, cost control, risk management, documentation, HR, and logistics for the Subsea Production System (SPS) or Subsea Umbilicals, Risers, and Flowlines (SURF) package. The role ensures efficient execution and coordination across project controls, while maintaining compliance with HSE, budget, and scheduling objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Controls & Coordination:

  • Lead the project control activities for the Subsea package (SPS or SURF).
  • Oversee contracting processes, from tendering to contract management, ensuring compliance with technical and commercial requirements.
  • Develop and monitor the package budget, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Ensure schedule coordination, integrating data into the overall project timeline.
  • Monitor progress tracking, risk registers, and reporting to support project decision-making.

Contract & Risk Management:

  • Oversee risk management activities, ensuring the risk register is up to date by working closely with discipline and area leads.
  • Ensure rigorous Change Order and claim management, tracking potential changes and counterclaims.
  • Liaise with legal, finance, and technical teams to mitigate contractual and financial risks.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Lead the preparation and dissemination of package reporting, ensuring data accuracy and quality.
  • Establish an efficient Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) for project file capitalization.
  • Consolidate Long-Term Plan (LTP) elements within the package scope.

HR & Logistics Support:

  • Coordinate HR activities, ensuring personnel mobilization aligns with project needs.
  • Oversee package logistics, including office setup and administrative coordination.
  • Contribute to the development of the Subsea package implementation and local development plans.

Stakeholder & Compliance Management:

  • Work closely with the Subsea Package Manager, Package Leads, and Project Control Manager.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE, ethics, and international project control standards.
  • Gather lessons learned and contribute to the project close-out report.

Context & Environment

This role is part of a major offshore project in Suriname, involving deepwater and shallow-water discoveries. The project presents unique technical challenges, including reservoir development optimization, FPSO integration, and subsea production/injection systems. The objective is to maximize economic performance, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and maintain high technical and safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • 15+ years of experience in project controls, with expertise in contract writing, negotiation, and management in the oil & gas industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in major offshore subsea projects (SPS or SURF packages).
  • Proficiency in risk management, cost control, and scheduling tools.
  • Strong Excel skills for cost tracking and reporting.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
