Structural Designer
Location: Offshore, Malaysia
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Offshore Structural Designer to contribute to the successful execution of offshore projects. In this role, you will be responsible for producing 3D models, 2D drawings, material take-offs (MTOs), and connection detailing, ensuring compliance with industry standards and fabrication/installation requirements.
You will work closely with engineering and design teams to deliver high-quality solutions that align with project specifications, statutory guidelines, and best practices. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled designer to be involved in complex offshore structural projects while leveraging expertise in E3D software.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently create 3D models, 2D drawings, MTOs, and detailed connections for offshore structural projects.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, project requirements, and fabrication/installation constraints.
- Prepare 3D models and drawings using E3D software, including accurate material take-off extraction.
- Review and check design deliverables, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to project schedules.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to integrate structural designs with other disciplines.
- Ensure material take-offs and bill of quantities are precise and fit for purpose.
Profile Requirements
Must-have:
- Technical diploma with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in offshore structural design.
- Proficiency in 3D modelling using E3D software is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of material take-off (MTO) and bill of quantities (BOQ).
- Knowledge of joint detailing and offshore structural connections.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in 3D modelling using S3D, Tekla, or BOCAD software.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes and brownfield installation projects.
