Senior Installation Supervisor - Offshore EPIC Projects

Location: Offshore, Qatar

Work Schedule: 29x27

Contract Term: 1-year contract

We are seeking an experienced Senior Installation Supervisor to oversee the offshore installation of major engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning (EPIC) projects. This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional with a strong background in offshore oil and gas installations, including production platforms, wellhead structures, subsea pipelines, and associated infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and guide the contractor during engineering and offshore installation, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Review, comment on, and approve construction engineering documents using PDMS.
  • Participate in key engineering workshops, including constructability reviews, SIMOPS, risk analysis, 3D model reviews, HAZOP, and lifting plan reviews.
  • Oversee the contractor's execution of offshore installations, ensuring adherence to industry standards, specifications, and approved drawings.
  • Monitor, control, and report on contractor performance, resource allocation, and construction progress.
  • Act as the construction risk management representative, identifying risks, proposing mitigation measures, and ensuring implementation at site.
  • Liaise with senior discipline engineers across all project phases to ensure seamless construction execution.
  • Review contractors' construction plans, schedules, and offshore logistics, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Maintain a daily progress record, highlighting key activities, issues, and corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure full compliance with work permits, monitoring contractor adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Oversee mobilisation and demobilisation of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to offshore sites.
  • Foster collaboration between multiple contractors, departments, and project teams to resolve construction challenges.
  • Support the development and enhancement of project standards, specifications, and corporate guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • BSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, or related discipline) from a recognised university, or a Diploma in Mechanical/Petroleum Engineering with additional certifications in Safety, Quality Control, and Construction.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience supervising offshore installation for EPIC projects, including jackets, risers, J-tubes, pipelines, umbilicals, and related subsea structures.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, material inspection, and reviewing/approving method statements and load-out activities.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and a high level of computer literacy.
  • Experience in FEED and EPIC projects, with a strong capability to review and approve contractor deliverables.
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
  • In-depth understanding of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and review construction schedules, method statements, drawings, and inspection/test plans.
  • Skilled in identifying potential bottlenecks and risks, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience supervising multi-national and multi-cultural contractor workforces.
