Senior Mechanical (Static) Engineer

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical (Static) Engineer to join a dynamic offshore operation in Malaysia. This role offers the chance to work on complex static equipment, ensuring reliability, optimising maintenance strategies, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the maintenance and operation of static mechanical equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other critical assets.

Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, ensuring long-term asset integrity.

Develop and implement short- and long-term maintenance strategies, with a focus on optimising performance and reliability.

Conduct root cause analyses (RCA) and implement effective countermeasures to prevent recurring issues.

Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications to static equipment.

Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams to enhance asset performance.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices, supporting safety and operational excellence.

Prepare work plans, budgets, and justifications for major spare parts and equipment procurement.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives, driving innovation and efficiency in static equipment management.

Promote and uphold a strong health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture across all activities.
What We’re Looking For:

Strong experience in static mechanical engineering within the oil & gas, energy, or related industries.

Proven track record in maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.

Expertise in conducting root cause analysis and implementing long-term reliability improvements.

Familiarity with asset management systems and industry best practices.

Ability to work in a fast-paced offshore environment, collaborating with diverse teams.
