Role Purpose:
The Senior Logistics Specialist oversees logistics activities for designated projects, ensuring compliance with logistics policies. This role involves working closely with Lead Logistics, Procurement Specialists, Project Teams, and third-party logistics providers to ensure the timely transportation and delivery of materials via various freight methods.
Key Accountabilities:
- Proactive Freight Management: Handles domestic and international freight to ensure on-time deliveries, supporting process improvements.
- Efficient Transportation Analysis: Reviews shipping routes to identify the most economical options.
- Problem Resolution: Identifies transportation challenges, addressing cost concerns.
- Logistics Planning: Assists in developing project-specific shipping plans.
- Service Provider Management: Oversees service providers and negotiates terms.
- Vessel Chartering: Manages vessel and specialty carrier arrangements.
- Compliance: Ensures proper documentation for shipments and prepares insurance certifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics or related field.
- 5+ years in logistics or supply chain management.
- Proficiency in logistics software and TMS systems.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
