Senior Instrument Engineer – Remote Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide instrumentation expertise and guidance to maintenance and operations teams across designated sites.
  • Manage emergent and planned engineering issues, ensuring a balance between safety and commercial priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with Functional Safety, Cybersecurity, Explosive Atmosphere, and Power Distribution Systems.
  • Lead small-scale projects from concept to completion, overseeing budgets and ensuring engineering standards are met.
  • Conduct failure investigations, develop strategies for obsolescence management, and contribute to high plant availability.
  • Support maintenance organisation, cost reduction, and risk management in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Assist in implementing plant safety schemes and ensuring compliance with regulatory recommendations.
  • Maintain and enhance CMMS while staying updated on evolving industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct audits, contribute to technical meetings, and review relevant policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and develop graduate and assistant EC&I engineers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree or HND in Engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical, or related discipline).
  • Experience working within Functional Safety Management Systems.
  • Previous experience in asset optimisation and on-site support.
  • Proven track record of managing projects from inception to completion, with remote support capabilities.
  • Hands-on operational experience in power generation, chemical, or COMAH-regulated sites.
