Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Contracts Engineer to manage and oversee project tenders, contracts, and procurement activities for a leading offshore operator in Denmark. This role will be instrumental in sourcing EPC contracts, handling long-lead items, and supporting ongoing field operations contracts.
The ideal candidate will be an autonomous and experienced contracts engineer who can drive cost optimization, supplier relationship management, and compliance with company standards, while ensuring operational continuity in a highly complex offshore environment.
Key Responsibilities
Tendering & Contract Management
- Lead pre-award (tender phase) and post-award contract management for projects and operations.
- Develop, negotiate, and issue contracts aligned with company policies, HSE requirements, and external regulations.
- Conduct market intelligence to establish strong benchmarks and drive competitive sourcing strategies.
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Engage with internal stakeholders (HSE, Legal, Finance, Procurement, etc.) to ensure strategic alignment in sourcing and contracts.
- Liaise with international affiliates and TotalEnergies Global Procurement (TGP) to leverage economies of scale and best practices.
- Foster strong supplier relationships, ensuring performance through KPIs and service quality meetings.
Cost Optimization & Risk Management
- Challenge cost structures through negotiations, RFQs, and strategic demand management.
- Maintain a balance between cost efficiency, quality, and delivery times.
- Drive contract risk management, ensuring technical, financial, and HSE compliance.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Ensure contracting processes align with global best practices, including framework agreements, contract templates, and supplier evaluations.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with SAP and internal filing systems.
- Present contracting strategies to relevant committees for approval and governance.
Context & Environment
- Operation in a mature offshore field with high complexity, requiring a robust procurement strategy for operational continuity.
- Regular engagement with local and international suppliers to optimize purchasing activities.
- Dynamic and fast-paced work environment, balancing long-term planning with urgent operational needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum seven years of experience in contract management, procurement, or commercial roles in the oil and gas or similar industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, commercial, or related discipline.
- Strong understanding of economics, accounting, finance, legal, and insurance aspects in contract management.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Suite.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Experience with TotalEnergies projects or affiliates is an advantage.
