Role Overview
As a Risk Engineer, you will play a vital role in advising clients in the Power and Renewables sectors. This client-facing position will involve significant travel, with flexibility around the facilities you visit across France and occasionally Europe.
You will focus on gas and steam turbine risk assessments, loss estimates, and benchmarking exercises. Your ability to deliver detailed risk assessments and technical support will be crucial for client decision-making and operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth risk assessments of power generation and renewable energy facilities, with a focus on gas and steam turbines.

Provide loss estimates and identify potential risks for clients in the power generation industry.

Facilitate training sessions and benchmarking exercises for clients in the energy and renewables sector.

Develop detailed reports outlining risk findings, loss potential, and recommendations for improving operational safety and performance.

Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client staff in Risk Management, Operations, and Engineering functions.

Provide strategic risk mitigation advice to help clients optimize performance and reduce operational risks.

Collaborate with internal teams (underwriting, claims, business development) to support client needs and ensure alignment with risk management objectives.
Requirements

Fluent French speaker – essential for communication with French-speaking clients.

Strong background in gas/steam turbine technology and risk engineering, with extensive experience in power generation or renewables.

Proven track record in risk assessment, loss prevention, or technical consulting within the energy sector.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Willingness to travel frequently to client sites across France and Europe.

Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) preferred.
