Location: Stockholm, with business travels to a project site (30-40%)

Contract Type: Up to 12-month contract with potential to extend

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage the Continuous Improvement (CI) of Supply Chain and Logistics for a large-scale construction project. The role will focus on developing and implementing supply chain strategies to ensure smooth project execution, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams to optimise procurement, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management processes.


Key Responsibilities

1. Supply Chain Strategy & Development

  • Design and implement a robust end-to-end supply chain structure tailored to a major construction project.

  • Develop and deploy Lean supply chain strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve workflow.

  • Establish procurement, logistics, warehousing, and material handling processes to support project success.

  • Set up KPIs and performance metrics to monitor supply chain performance and success.

2. Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Develop and manage procurement policies that align with project needs, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Negotiate and collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure cost-effective, high-quality materials.

  • Build long-term supplier relationships and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply chain continuity.

  • Optimise supplier contracts and explore Just-in-Time (JIT) delivery models to minimise inventory costs.

3. Logistics & Inventory Management

  • Implement Lean warehousing and logistics systems to streamline material flow and reduce inefficiencies.

  • Develop inventory control strategies using Kanban and pull-based systems to minimise waste and storage costs.

  • Oversee transportation and distribution networks to ensure on-time delivery and optimal routing.

  • Utilise digital tools and supply chain management software to track and analyse logistics operations.

4. Lean & Process Optimisation

  • Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies in the supply chain.

  • Conduct value stream mapping (VSM) to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) to maintain operational excellence and sustainability.

  • Develop training programs to upskill team members on Lean supply chain practices.

5. Compliance, Risk Management & Sustainability

  • Ensure compliance with local and international construction supply chain regulations and standards.

  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, such as cost fluctuations, material shortages, and delivery delays.

  • Promote sustainable procurement and green supply chain practices to support environmental and social goals.

  • Ensure the implementation of health, safety, and quality control measures in material handling and logistics operations.


Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3-8 years of experience in supply chain management, particularly in large-scale construction, infrastructure, or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.

  • Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Lean Construction, and Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred).

  • Strong experience in procurement, contract negotiations, and supplier management.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems, supply chain analytics, and digital transformation tools.

  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to build and develop a high-performing team.

  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and analytical skills.


Preferred Certifications

  • Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt)

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) (Preferred but not mandatory)

  • APICS, CIPS, or similar supply chain certifications.
