Job Overview:
The Project Lead - Mechanical Engineering is responsible for managing and executing key mechanical engineering projects within the steel manufacturing industry. This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing mechanical projects that align with operational and production objectives. The Project Lead will apply extensive industry knowledge to drive project success, optimize processes, and ensure engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
- Technical Expertise in Mechanical Engineering: Apply in-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles to support project requirements and resolve complex technical issues. Provide guidance on design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems for steel manufacturing.
- Process Oversight: Supervise the full production process, ensuring that mechanical projects integrate effectively with broader production objectives. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, implementing strategies to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as production, quality, and engineering, to ensure alignment on project goals and successful project execution.
- Team Leadership and Development: Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting skill development within the mechanical engineering team.
- Compliance and Safety Standards: Ensure all projects comply with industry safety standards and company policies. Promote a strong culture of safety and quality across all mechanical engineering activities.
- Resource Management: Coordinate resources, including budgeting and scheduling, to maintain project efficiency and meet company objectives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering and project management, with significant time spent in a senior role.
- Demonstrated expertise within the steel manufacturing industry, with thorough understanding of the complete production process.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record of managing large-scale mechanical projects.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, particularly as they apply to steel production.
