Job Title: Project Director


Primary Objectives / Responsibilities:

  • Lead and ensure the achievement of HSSEQ objectives, targets, and goals through active leadership and personal involvement.

  • Oversee all management aspects of the PMC group and related PMC Contracts, ensuring the appointment of qualified and experienced project personnel to deliver work within agreed timelines, cost plans, and safety standards, in alignment with international quality standards.

  • Ensure clear communication and alignment of the Customer’s objectives, ensuring these goals are not only met but exceeded.

  • Mentor and coach the Contract Leadership Team, providing direction, guidance, and support to foster team development and performance.

  • Provide focused leadership to the project team, setting a clear vision for project success and a strategic plan to achieve it.

  • Listen to the team, discuss challenges, resolve issues, and direct activities to remove obstacles, thereby achieving contractual KPIs.


Specific Accountabilities:

  • Own the relationship with the Customer and ensure their needs are consistently met.

  • Regularly attend and contribute to Contract Steering Committee meetings and internal monthly progress reviews.

  • Act as a liaison for the Worley organization, offering an avenue to address issues not resolved at the project or contract level.

  • Ensure Project Manager(s) are supported with the necessary resources and services from other departments like HR, Finance, etc.

  • Facilitate access to external expertise when required.

  • Conduct regular formal internal reviews of the Contract's status with senior management, guided by data from the Project Control Lead.

  • Proactively resolve issues related to performance, scope, cost, and schedule, in collaboration with the Project Manager(s).

  • Ensure a comprehensive set of tools and software are available to the team, ensuring effective project delivery.

  • Enforce adherence to the MoPC procedure and all applicable standards.

  • Monitor project performance regularly to identify issues and opportunities early, taking preemptive action as needed, and developing corrective action plans when necessary.

  • Supervise the development of a Portfolio schedule to ensure that work is sequenced logically and efficiently.

  • Implement a system for capturing and applying lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Provide accurate and timely progress reports to both the Customer and internal Worley management teams.

  • Identify and manage contract risks and opportunities, ensuring their effective closure and maintaining an ongoing focus on risk management throughout the project.

  • Oversee the procurement process, ensuring goods meet specifications, are delivered on time, and stay within budget.

  • Monitor the Construction Management function to ensure safe, cost-effective, and on-schedule delivery of all projects in the portfolio.


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering discipline from an accredited university.

  • Experience:

    • At least 20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry related to Project Delivery.
    • Minimum of 10 years in a project management role.
    • Experience managing a portfolio of projects.
    • Proven ability to manage teams in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Customer Requirements:

    • A total of 20 years post-graduation experience.
    • At least 10 years of post-graduation experience in oil and gas projects.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the Middle East.
