Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the ongoing financial performance of each job by preparing monthly project accounts, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring all commercial and financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Support the Projects Team by providing regular commercial analysis and information regarding expenditures, commitments, and the financial performance of the contract.
  • Ensure internal cost reporting for the contract meets corporate accounting and commercial department requirements, and track recovery against costs, highlighting and resolving any associated issues promptly.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on KPI performance, highlighting areas for improvement to optimize financial return.
  • Liaise with commercial administrators to review invoices, ensuring they are presented to the client correctly and in a timely manner, with project management approval obtained.
  • Monitor outstanding debtors, address any commercial problems, and optimize cash collection.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost minimization to enhance contract margins.
  • Ensure labor and third-party reconciliations are completed on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Understand the commercial terms and administration requirements for allocated contracts to manage and mitigate risks associated with contract delivery.
  • Provide proactive advice and support to Project Teams regarding the commercial aspects of contracts.
  • Collate relevant start-up information for jobs/phases and initiate contract setup as appropriate.
  • Ensure all project activities, including minor estimates or CTRs, are undertaken in line with client approval processes and internal DOA prior to commencement.
  • Perform all tasks and prepare all information in accordance with company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Support contract administration, including rate reviews, contract reviews, amendments, and incentive performance, ensuring all costs are fully recovered and accounted for.
  • Provide commercial support in the preparation of tenders and new business proposals.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree qualified, preferably in Finance/Accounting.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Team player with proactive initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and month-end deliverables.
  • Commercial knowledge.
  • Previous experience in a similar role
