Role Overview
The Product Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of refined and petrochemical products throughout the production process. This role includes monitoring product quality, conducting inspections and tests, troubleshooting quality issues, and implementing corrective actions. The Specialist will work with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality, optimize processes, and meet customer requirements while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control procedures to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Quality Monitoring: Analyse product quality parameters (e.g., viscosity, density, chemical composition) to identify deviations and take corrective actions.
- Testing and Inspection: Conduct laboratory and on-site evaluations using analytical techniques to ensure product integrity.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with process engineers to optimize parameters and improve quality outcomes.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of quality data and prepare detailed reports on performance and trends.
- Supplier and Customer Collaboration: Ensure raw material quality with suppliers and address customer quality concerns.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with industry standards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Training: Provide guidance and training on quality procedures and methodologies to personnel.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize costs.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Six Sigma is preferred.
Skills & Training
- In-depth knowledge of refined and petrochemical products and their quality control requirements.
- Proficiency in quality management systems, testing methods, and analytical techniques.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and compliance standards in the refining and petrochemical industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and corrective actions.
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years in product quality assurance and claims management.
