Purpose:

To independently define concepts and critical deliverables, lead, plan, manage, and control engineering deliverables for assigned projects according to specified technical requirements, timelines, and budgets. This role involves managing project resources, resolving project-related issues, and providing guidance to the assigned team.

Responsibilities:

  • Understands the project-specific specifications and requirements, as well as relevant industry standards, classification society requirements, and regulatory requirements.

  • Plans and directs the use of process simulation software, prepares design calculations, performs simulation studies, and reviews datasheets prepared by engineers and reviewed by senior engineers. Where necessary, conducts or directs simulation studies.

  • Leads engineers and senior engineers in developing project-specific engineering specifications (drawings, data sheets, etc.), reviews and validates them with the project manager and client before incorporating them into RFQs.

  • Independently evaluates bids received for process and utility packages from suppliers, performs technical bid evaluations, contributes to cost estimation, and ensures selected vendors meet technical, engineering, and delivery requirements as per project specifications. Provides assessments to the buyer for further steps in the tender process.

  • Reviews draft drawings and documents from team members, ensuring timely and accurate provision of documents and specifications to successful vendors to enable project execution.

  • Independently manages and develops solutions to technical and engineering problems by analyzing data, interpreting results, and evaluating options using experience, precedents, and professional references. Anticipates and addresses potential issues to prevent delays or obstacles.

  • Conducts supplier visits and reviews test results of process equipment to ensure compliance with specifications. Where necessary, collaborates with suppliers and contractors to resolve deficiencies and ensure timely readiness.

  • Participates in meetings, reviews project progress, addresses interface, implementation, and execution issues, and escalates concerns as needed to ensure timely project completion.

  • Plans and organizes resources and schedules to meet project timelines and departmental objectives.

  • Provides technical and engineering support to construction and commissioning work on-site, troubleshoots issues, and collaborates with stakeholders to resolve problems. Provides off-site support as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in process engineering within the oil and gas sector for degree holders, or a minimum of 11 years for master’s degree holders. Direct experience with FPSO/FSO projects.

  • Familiar with applicable industry standards, company standards, specifications, and procedures for the relevant functional area.
