Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to play a key role in the development and execution of process design activities for a large-scale project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive project efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee process engineering activities and provide technical leadership to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Review critical project design documents, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Design Basis documents.

  • Provide technical support for process engineering aspects, including safety assessments, interdisciplinary coordination, and vendor engagement.

  • Ensure alignment with project scope, industry standards, and company specifications.

  • Manage interfaces with licensors, vendors, and contractors to facilitate smooth coordination.

  • Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, and other safety studies, ensuring design compliance with safety regulations.

  • Contribute to 3D model reviews and ensure design integrity at 30%, 60%, and 90% project stages.

  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure timely execution of project deliverables.

  • Identify opportunities for cost and schedule optimisation.

Requirements

Education & Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in large-scale projects, including a minimum of 3 years in the Middle East energy sector.

  • Proficiency in process simulation tools (HYSYS, PRO II, Flare System, and other process safety software).

  • Experience in steady-state and dynamic system simulation.

  • Strong background in process engineering deliverables, including:

    • Heat & Mass Balance (H&MB)

    • Heat integration

    • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)

    • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

    • Major Equipment Design & Hydraulics Calculations

  • Experience in participating in safety assessment reviews.

  • Knowledge of heat exchanger design (HTRI/HTFS), column internals, corrosion/material selection, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling is a plus.

  • Familiarity with international engineering standards and procedures.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and engineering design software.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
