Process Controls Engineer – Manchester – Hybrid

About the Role

A leading global chemical manufacturer is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to join its team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge automation and control systems, ensuring efficient, reliable, and optimised manufacturing processes. Working in a highly collaborative and technically advanced environment, you will play a key role in supporting operations both locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for control systems at the Manchester plant (UK)
  • Actively participate in safety programs, promoting best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems at the site.
  • Implement and test control system changes for equipment upgrades, capacity expansion, new product introductions, and process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues, supporting operational teams and technicians.
  • Conduct system analysis, improvement studies, and front-end design work, collaborating with external contractors and consultants.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise control system implementations, procedures, and maintenance plans.
  • Monitor and improve instrumentation and control loop performance to enhance system efficiency.
  • Design and implement advanced control solutions to optimise production processes.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience maintaining control systems in an industrial setting.
  • Experience with Siemens PCS7 DCS (highly preferred).
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills with a results-driven approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
