  • Manage testing procedures, ensuring correct mediums are used (e.g., pneumatic testing unless water or steam is involved) and that appropriate safety measures are in place.

  • Inspect and approve oxygen service welds, ensuring records are maintained.

  • Lead and coordinate quality control efforts to maintain high weld standards.

  • Oversee material control processes, ensuring cast number transfers are properly recorded.

  • Manage system completion, including "punch-out" inspections and resolution of outstanding issues before commissioning.

  • Supervise sub-contractors and ensure safe work execution in compliance with project safety, security, and quality plans.

  • Support the implementation of the Project Execution Plan and address any unforeseen site issues, escalating when necessary.

  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports as required.

Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or related Engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience in industrial gases, oil & gas, or related sectors, with significant site-based experience.

  • Strong knowledge of piping codes, particularly ASME B31.3.

  • Proven expertise in construction techniques, including piping erection, pre-fabrication, painting, insulation, and testing.

  • Familiarity with ASME and other relevant industry standards.

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and coordination skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical report writing.

  • Experience working in multicultural project teams.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in industrial gas construction.

  • Background in client-side project management rather than through EPC contractors.

  • Knowledge of executing Bill of Quantity (BOQ) construction contracts.

Additional Requirements

  • Prior experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects within the Oil & Gas sector.

  • Strong piping background with experience in similar roles on large-scale projects.

  • Valid VCA Certificate (to be obtained before starting on-site).
