Role Purpose

To manage piping activities and prepare engineering deliverables for assigned projects, including short-term assignments to construction, commissioning, or offshore, in accordance with technical requirements and timelines. This role requires minimal guidance and involves identifying and resolving recurring basic engineering issues.

Key Accountabilities

  • Understands project specifications, standards, local statutory and regulatory requirements, classification requirements, and applicable codes and industry practices to carry out piping activities and prepare piping deliverables for assigned projects.

  • Provides solutions to recurring or less complex technical and engineering problems by analyzing data and proposing actions.

  • Prepares piping design specifications, stress analysis specifications, pipe support specifications, and standard detail drawings.

  • Prepares bill of materials for piping bulk items (such as pipes, flanges, fittings), valves, piping specialty items, gaskets, stud bolts, nuts, and pipe support materials, and provides piping weight inputs for weight control reports.

  • Prepares data sheets for process-critical and non-critical piping specialty items, gathering process parameters required for designing and manufacturing process-critical items.

  • Coordinates with engineering contractors to implement flexibility analysis findings and select appropriate piping support, considering support type, load restraints, and special support requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master of Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in piping engineering for FPSO or offshore processing facilities; for Master’s degree holders, a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Proficient in Navisworks and CAESAR-II.
