Role Purpose
To prepare complex engineering and technical drawings, following established design procedures, standards, and codes. Utilizes experience and judgment to create original designs, depicting equipment layouts and arrangements in 2D or 3D, in support of engineers working on engineering planning, design, construction, and fabrication projects.
Key Accountabilities

Assists in project design activities by preparing piping layouts, general arrangements, and detailed designs in 2D or 3D.

Applies knowledge of company engineering design, 3D modeling, and CAD drafting standards.

Prepares complex sets of engineering drawings, including detailed and fabrication drawings from multiple perspectives.

Analyzes complex designs and evaluates equipment systems, creating product layouts and generating new designs when necessary.

Develops layout designs for equipment, components, structures, and systems, using references such as standard designs, manufacturer catalogs, and technical guides.

Performs final drafting reviews to ensure that dimensional data is comprehensive and suitable for engineering or fabrication purposes.

Prepares documentation, including Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), engineering specifications, design reports, material take-offs (MTO), and other necessary system documentation.

Ensures that drawings contain the required dimensional tolerances, as defined or designed by manufacturers or engineers, to ensure proper assembly fit.

Creates drawings and presentation slides to be used as part of technical specifications and project proposals.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, with technical trade school training or equivalent experience in drafting.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in an offshore or onshore plant design role within a 2D and 3D CAD design environment. Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD and Aveva E3D, as well as material take-off.

Knowledge of standard drafting and 3D modeling techniques applicable to the offshore industry.
