Role Purpose

To prepare and deliver outfitting engineering deliverables for assigned projects under guidance, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and timelines. Responsible for independently reviewing fabrication yard and supplier drawings to confirm adherence to project regulations, industry standards, and company specifications.

Key Accountabilities

  • Understands the fundamentals of FPSO systems and their general functions, along with specific technical specifications.

  • Prepares the outfitting scope of work, which includes marine and topsides steel outfitting arrangements, living quarters (LQ) arrangements, HVAC specifications, corrosion protection, fire control plans, and material handling arrangements.

  • Develops outfitting arrangements, such as deck outfitting, tank access, lifesaving equipment, LQ compartments, HVAC, deck cranes, flare tower arrangements, and material handling arrangements.

  • Prepares technical specifications, calculations, drawings, and data sheets for outfitting equipment, validates them with senior/lead engineers, and incorporates them into requisition (RFQ) documents.

  • Prepares and monitors outfitting equipment tag numbering and weight control lists.

  • Evaluates technical bids for outfitting equipment from suppliers, ensuring they meet the technical and delivery requirements through a technical bid evaluation process.

  • Provides technical assessments to the buyer for use in the tender evaluation, price negotiation, and award process.

  • Reviews drawings and documents from fabrication yards and suppliers to ensure outfitting items are designed for construction reliability and practicality.

  • Attends factory acceptance tests for outfitting equipment.

  • Collaborates with senior engineers to close out outfitting-related HAZID/HAZOP items.

  • Understands critical safety reviews and studies conducted during the FPSO engineering phase.

  • Assists senior engineers in addressing outfitting-related comments from the classification society and corresponding with class surveyors, if applicable.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Naval Architecture Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Navisworks Freedom.
