Under supervision, responsible for preparing and delivering outfitting engineering deliverables for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with specified technical requirements and timelines. Independently reviews fabrication yard and supplier drawings to ensure alignment with project regulations, industry standards, and company requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Understands the fundamentals of FPSO systems, general functions of each facility/system, and specific technical specifications.

  • Prepares outfitting scopes of work, including marine and topsides steel outfitting arrangements, living quarter (LQ) arrangements, HVAC specifications, corrosion protection, fire control plans, and material handling arrangements.

  • Develops outfitting arrangements (e.g., deck outfitting, tank access, lifesaving equipment, LQ compartment, HVAC, deck crane, flare tower arrangement, material handling).

  • Prepares technical specifications, calculations, drawings, data sheets for outfitting equipment specific to the project and validates them with senior/lead engineers before including them in requisition (RFQ) documents.

  • Prepares and monitors outfitting equipment tag numbering lists and weight control lists.

  • Evaluates technical bids for outfitting equipment from suppliers and performs technical bid evaluations to ensure selected suppliers meet technical and delivery requirements.

  • Provides technical assessments to the buyer to assist in the tender evaluation, price negotiation, and award process.

  • Reviews fabrication yard and supplier drawings/documents to ensure outfitting items are engineered for construction reliability and practicality.

  • Attends factory acceptance tests for outfitting equipment.

  • Collaborates with senior engineers to close out outfitting-related HAZID/HAZOP items.

  • Understands critical safety reviews/studies conducted during FPSO engineering phases.

  • Assists senior engineers with addressing outfitting-related comments from the classification society and corresponds with the class surveyor, if applicable.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Naval Architecture Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Intermediate proficiency in using Navisworks Freedom.
