Operator Technician – Fixed-Term Contract (12 Months)

We are currently seeking an Operator Technician to join a highly skilled operational team at a leading energy facility. This role is a fixed-term 12-month contract and offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of an advanced industrial site.
The Role
As an Operator Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient operation of plant equipment while performing frontline maintenance tasks to maintain compliance with legislative and operational standards. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling site processes, responding to operational demands, and supporting plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plant systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Carry out first-line maintenance duties, including mechanical and/or electrical tasks, as required.
- Support plant shutdowns and emergency shutdown procedures to maintain safety and compliance.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental (SHE) procedures.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, supporting efficiency and performance initiatives.
- Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Proven experience in an operational or maintenance role within a continuous process or production environment.
- First-line maintenance skills in a mechanical or electrical discipline (or both).
- A strong understanding of plant safety systems and procedures.
- Experience handling shutdowns and emergency shutdowns.
- Working knowledge of COMAH regulations (or equivalent industrial safety regulations).
