Job Title: Offshore Brownfield Construction Lead

Work Hours/Day: 10 hours/day
Work Days/Week: 6 days/week
Work Days/Month: 26 days/month
Location: Qatar (75% Onshore, 25% Offshore)
Contract Term: 3 Years (Secondment)
Compensation: Day rate + Living allowance


Job Purpose:

The Offshore Brownfield Construction Lead is responsible for managing and leading the safe and successful execution of offshore brownfield scopes. The role ensures that quality, schedule, cost, and overall project objectives are met through the effective delivery of the EPC contractor’s work in a safe and efficient manner.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

  • Offshore survival certificate required; ability to pass an offshore medical evaluation.

  • OPITO certification considered a plus.

  • Must be able to work on or be based offshore (platform or vessel).


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role involving engineering, fabrication, construction, and installation for major capital projects, particularly brownfield scopes.

  • Extensive experience in brownfield project execution, with knowledge from both Contractor and Client perspectives.

  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to drive project execution.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Execution: Manage and ensure the successful execution of offshore brownfield project components, meeting key objectives such as Safety, Quality, Cost, and Schedule.

  2. Technical Expertise: Provide technical support for the offshore brownfield construction, aiding in the development of execution schedules, scope of work, and constructability strategies.

  3. Logistics and Marine Operations: Develop logistics strategies and plans for offshore execution, including accommodation, POB (Personnel on Board) management, and marine operations strategies (e.g., Jack-Up Barges, DP Accommodation Vessels, Supply Vessels).

  4. Project Reviews & Planning: Coordinate and participate in various project reviews and workshops (IPRs, CERs, SDMS Gate Reviews). Engage in the development of the Project Plan, SHE Plan, and Shutdown Plans. Ensure readiness reviews and approvals are completed for major offshore activities like mobilization and shutdowns.

  5. Procurement & Construction Execution: Support and manage the EPC Procurement Strategies and drive construction execution planning. Ensure work packaging principles are integrated and project priorities are communicated effectively to the fabrication yard teams.

  6. Work Pack Development: Lead the development and review of CWA (Construction Work Authorization) and CWP (Construction Work Package). Ensure project controls are effectively implemented, and corrective actions are taken as needed.

  7. Interface Management: Ensure proper management of interfaces across various teams (engineering, fabrication sites, commissioning, operations, etc.) for brownfield and tie-in scope execution.

  8. Collaboration: Actively collaborate with Operations, Marine, and Logistics teams to align on construction execution plans and obtain feedback.

  9. Operations & Marine Practices Expertise: Serve as a knowledge expert on operational and marine practices related to brownfield construction, including Work Management Systems (WMS), Permit-to-Work (PTW), SIMOPS, and Shutdown Management Systems (SDMS).

  10. Relief Responsibilities: In case of need, provide relief for the Mechanical Completions Lead.

  • Offshore Exposure: This role requires frequent offshore work (25% of the time), alongside onshore responsibilities (75% of the time).

  • Contract Duration: 3-year secondment contract with a competitive day rate and living allowance.
