Role Title: HSSE Lead

Location: Brisbane, QLD

Compensation: Based on experience + performance bonuses

Role Overview:

The HSSE Lead will oversee health, safety, security, and environmental initiatives, ensuring alignment with company standards. This role is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, managing safety protocols, and fostering continuous improvement across operations in Australia. The position involves travel to operational sites and includes one direct report.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HSSE Systems: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of safety management systems in line with internal protocols.
  • Training & Education: Lead training programs, ensure compliance with refresher courses, and manage internal education tools.
  • Monitoring & Audits: Conduct inspections and audits, ensuring that contractor plans meet company standards.
  • Risk Management: Lead safety evaluations and implement risk management strategies.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to government regulations and internal policies, including global safety standards.
  • Data Reporting: Compile HSSE data and contribute to monthly and annual reports.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison for internal teams and external contractors regarding safety concerns.
  • Emergency Planning: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conducting regular drills.
  • Incident Management: Lead investigations into safety incidents, ensuring that lessons are learned and applied.
  • Contractor Management: Review and ensure contractor safety plans align with project requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop the HSSE team, ensuring they are aligned with safety goals.
  • Budgeting: Manage the HSSE budget, ensuring cost-effective safety practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential: Qualifications in occupational health and safety, lead auditor certification, and 5-10 years of experience in a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience in the energy or construction sector, with a focus on renewable energy.
