Job Title: Lead Cost Engineer
Location: Boden, Sweden
Assignment Type: Annually Renewable Contract
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (8 Hours per day)

We are seeking a Lead Cost Engineer to play a key role in ensuring rigorous cost management, forecasting, and financial compliance for a major construction programme in Sweden. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee cost management and estimating activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Provide support to EPCM contractors, assisting in the resolution of cost-related challenges.
  • Coordinate monthly cost review meetings with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to assess reports, cash flow, and change management.
  • Interface with finance, accounting, and project stakeholders to deliver accurate cost forecasts and analysis.
  • Support Area Managers with cost review processes and prepare monthly internal reports.
  • Assist in developing and delivering presentations to key stakeholders on cost performance and projections.
  • Continuously monitor project trends, identifying risks and opportunities to improve cost efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Around 10 years of experience in cost control for major industrial projects, preferably within an EPCM contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of project phases and cost management principles as per industry standards.
  • Proficiency in cost engineering, estimating, and planning in accordance with AACE and PMI guidelines.
  • Experience working across multiple project functions, including engineering, procurement, construction, finance, and quality.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess value engineering opportunities and implement effective reporting structures.
  • Familiarity with cost control software and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and anticipate potential challenges.
