Client: Global Supermajor (Oil & Gas)
Assignment Type: Residential Contract Role
Contract Length: Until 31st December 2025 (with expectation of extension)
Location: Esbjerg, Denmark
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
Scope of Work:
The Internal Control & Audit Advisor will support the Internal Control & Audit Manager in evaluating and enhancing the efficiency of business operations, risk management, and internal controls. This role involves conducting audits, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing effective control strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Control & Compliance
- Develop and maintain a strong internal control strategy.
- Support the delivery of CLIENT’s risk-based audit program to ensure operational efficiency, asset protection, reporting reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in delivering CLIENT’s Compliance Programme.
SOX & Compliance Activities
- Conduct testing of SOX controls throughout the year, ensuring compliance with SOX campaign guidelines.
- Support the setup, implementation, and deployment of SOX controls.
- Assist the Internal Control & Audit Manager with Compliance Coordinator tasks.
Internal Audit Activities
- Perform risk assessments to define the audit program scope.
- Assist in tracking, reporting, and managing audit risks and actions.
- Conduct audit tests, interviews, and observations, documenting findings.
- Review and discuss audit findings with process owners to ensure accuracy.
- Complete audit fieldwork and prepare accurate audit work papers and reports.
Fraud & Compliance Investigations
- Conduct or participate in fraud and compliance investigations as required.
- Educate employees on anti-fraud and compliance procedures.
Vendor Audits
- Plan and execute audits related to vendor compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Change Management
- Work closely with various departments to communicate and implement internal control and audit requirements.
- Act as a change agent, driving compliance with SOX adherence and contract management.
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in internal audit, internal control, and risk management.
- Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management, and internal audit methodologies.
- Financial reporting knowledge is an advantage.
- ERP & IT systems proficiency is preferred.

- Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities.
- Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain audit processes to individuals with limited experience in the field.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and deliver results on time.
- Fluent in English (spoken & written).
