HSE Method Lead

Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSE Method Lead to support a major offshore energy development project. This role will be responsible for coordinating Health, Safety, Security, Environment (H3SE) management activities across all phases of the project, ensuring the safety of personnel, integrity of construction, and environmental protection.
The position requires strong expertise in HSE reporting, compliance, audits, and incident investigation, as well as proactive engagement with contractors and project teams to enforce HSE policies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Management & Compliance:
- Oversee and enforce HSE management procedures, ensuring compliance with project policies and industry standards.
- Monitor contractors’ HSE performance through reporting, audits, and site inspections, coordinating with package leads for effective implementation.
- Ensure the accurate recording, tracking, and reporting of HSE indicators (KPIs), anomalies, incidents, and accidents.
- Review HSE documentation from contractors and subcontractors, ensuring proper implementation and compliance.
- Lead and participate in HSE inspections, audits, and investigations, following up on corrective action plans.
- Maintain and update the Project Emergency Response Plan and HSE Management Plan.
- Support the HSE Manager and package teams in anticipating and planning HSE resources, training, and committee events.
- Promote safety culture and awareness at all levels, ensuring that personnel have the required HSE competencies and that training programs are executed as planned.
HSE Reporting & Communication:
- Implement and maintain an HSE recording and reporting system, consolidating contractor reports for overall project monitoring.
- Prepare and issue weekly and monthly HSE reports for project management.
- Ensure clear and timely communication with package managers, HSE managers, and senior project leadership regarding HSE performance and risks.
- Provide support for HSE Committees and engagement events.

Context & Environment
This role supports a major offshore energy project involving deepwater and shallow-water discoveries. The project presents unique challenges, including reservoir management, FPSO integration, and subsea production/injection systems. A strong focus is placed on optimizing economic performance, reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and maintaining high HSE standards.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- 10+ years of experience in HSE within the oil & gas or offshore energy sector.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar HSE leadership role.
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in HSE or a related field.
- Strong experience in HSE reporting, audits, compliance, and contractor management.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
