Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Head of Rotating (Machinery) to lead the rotating equipment discipline for a major LNG project. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in rotating equipment engineering, including expertise in Frame 6 and Frame 9 gas turbines. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering execution, design standards, safety criteria, and LNG facility operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Rotating Equipment Engineering & Leadership:
- Provide technical leadership for rotating equipment engineering, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry best practices.
- Oversee the design, selection, and integration of rotating equipment (e.g., compressors, pumps, turbines) for onshore LNG facilities and utility systems.
- Ensure rotating machinery specifications meet international standards, safety codes, and project objectives.
- Supervise engineering consultants, EPC contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with design and operational requirements.
Project Execution & Technical Support:
Provide engineering expertise across all phases of the project, from FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization of rotating equipment.
- Ensure project schedules and milestones related to rotating equipment are met while maintaining high-quality engineering standards.
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability teams to ensure seamless handover and long-term asset integrity.
- Stakeholder & Interface Management:
- Act as the primary technical interface between engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve technical queries and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders, providing updates and recommendations on rotating equipment matters.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in rotating equipment engineering, preferably in a major LNG project.
- Broad knowledge of engineering execution, design standards, codes, and safety criteria for onshore LNG facilities.
- Proven expertise in Frame 6 and Frame 9 gas turbines and other rotating equipment.
Technical & Business Skills:
Excellent written and oral English skills for technical reporting and stakeholder communication.
- Strong technical and discipline management skills, with a strategic mindset.
- Organizational, planning, and coordination skills to manage complex project requirements.
- Influencing and interface management skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering-related software.
Preferred Skills & Advantages:
- Experience in onshore LNG facilities and utility systems design, construction, and operations.
- Familiarity with EPC project execution methodologies.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering, condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance strategies for rotating machinery.
