Job Title: Head of Planning

Location: Project-Based (Office/Offshore)
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Planning to lead and oversee project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring for major oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project controls, extensive experience in planning and scheduling management, and proven leadership skills in a supervisory role.

Key Responsibilities:

      • Develop, implement, and manage project planning and scheduling strategies in alignment with project objectives and contractual requirements.
      • Lead and oversee the preparation and maintenance of detailed project schedules, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with industry best practices.
      • Provide strategic planning guidance to project teams, ensuring optimal resource allocation, risk management, and project execution efficiency.
      • Analyze project progress, trends, and deviations, providing recommendations for corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
      • Oversee schedule risk assessments, ensuring proactive mitigation of potential delays and project bottlenecks.
      • Collaborate with EPC Contractors, Sub-contractors, and Vendors, ensuring alignment with overall project planning and execution strategies.
      • Lead project reporting activities, generating accurate and timely progress reports for senior management and stakeholders.
      • Drive the implementation of planning and scheduling tools (Primavera P6, Power BI, MS Project) and ensure continuous improvement in project control processes.
      • Facilitate cross-functional coordination among project teams, procurement, engineering, and construction to ensure schedule integrity and synchronization.
      • Act as a key advisor and negotiator, influencing stakeholders and ensuring efficient decision-making in complex project environments.
      • Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to the planning and project controls team, fostering a high-performance culture.

Requirements & Qualifications:

      • Education:
        • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration.
      • Experience:
        • 12 years of experience in major project environments within the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on project controls, planning, and scheduling.
        • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role managing planning teams on large-scale projects.
        • Experience working with EPC Contractors, Sub-contractors, and Vendors in the oil and gas industry.
      • Technical Skills:
        • Strong expertise in scheduling software, including Primavera P6, MS Project, and other scheduling tools.
        • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database management for reporting and analytics.
        • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project data and trends.
      • Soft Skills & Competencies:
        • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
        • Strong negotiation and influencing skills to manage stakeholder expectations.
        • Effective teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple disciplines.
        • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop planning teams.
