Role Overview
The Fire Safety Engineer will play a key role in ensuring fire safety compliance, risk mitigation, and cost-effective design throughout the project. This role involves reviewing fire safety aspects of the plant’s design while aligning with legal requirements, industry best practices, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the fire protection strategy for buildings, fire alarm systems, and fire suppression systems.
- Coordinate fire safety requirements with Engineering Contractors.
- Review design documentation to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
- Standardize fire safety design across the project and monitor its implementation during construction.
- Conduct risk analyses related to fire safety.
- Develop and implement fire safety tools for the project.
- Create internal guidelines, concepts, and procedures for fire protection.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including project teams, operations, EPCMs, and OEMs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Fire Safety Engineering.
- Experience: 10-15 years of experience, with at least 5+ years in heavy industries such as Steel, Metals & Mining, Pulp & Paper, or Oil & Gas.
- Expertise in Fire Safety Studies, including commonly used methodologies.
- Strong understanding of industrial permitting processes and fire safety legislation.
- In-depth knowledge of Swedish building regulations and SBF rules.
