About the Role

We are looking for an Estimator to support a major oil & gas and petrochemical project in the Accelerated PreFEED phase. This role involves preparing capital cost estimates for large-scale industrial projects, analysing project scopes, and ensuring cost accuracy from concept development through to execution.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to cost evaluations, bid assessments, and contract negotiations, ensuring project cost efficiency and financial feasibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop capital cost estimates for engineering, procurement, and construction phases.

  • Translate project scope into detailed cost breakdowns for design, materials, and construction.

  • Formulate methodologies for deriving quantities from design parameters.

  • Apply contingency analysis based on project risks and uncertainties.

  • Conduct benchmarking against historical data and industry standards.

  • Prepare change order estimates and review contractor bids.

  • Act as a cost consultant and advisor to internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Review cost estimates for accuracy, completeness, and scope compliance.

  • Support bid analysis and contract negotiations.

  • Ensure estimating systems and tools remain up to date and accurate.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all estimating data.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (any discipline).

  • 10-15 years of estimating experience, including 5+ years in petrochemical, refinery, pipeline, or power generation projects.

  • Strong understanding of construction practices, materials, and equipment.

  • Experience in setting up estimates, coding, and reporting structures.

  • Ability to work with multinational teams and international stakeholders.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel (K Base knowledge preferred).

  • Strong background in cost databases, unit rates, and material take-offs.

  • Familiarity with cost risk analysis and estimation methodologies.
