Job Purpose
The Electrical Engineer will ensure contractor compliance with project scope, applicable standards, quality, design optimization, equipment manufacturing, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Review design packages for electrical systems, including transformers, motors, switchgear, control equipment, and distribution networks.
- Develop Project Design Basis documents and complete project load lists.
- Prepare technical reports and specifications for specific electrical equipment outside standard specifications.
- Oversee electrical activities for engineering, procurement, and construction contractors during the design phase.
- Collaborate with project managers to finalize the Electrical Engineering scope.
- Analyze major equipment selections, address technical queries, and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Ensure compliance with industrial standards and monitor contractor performance in coordination with the project management team.
- Assist with material requisitions, bid evaluations, and procurement support.
- Review change orders and evaluate cost compliance with project budgets.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure safety, quality, and project integrity.
- Approve electrical engineering packages before construction.
- Lead and recommend improvements for facility installations or modifications.
Requirements
Educational & Technical Requirements:
- 10-15 years of experience in design, engineering, and construction; industry-specific experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Certified Engineer (preferred)
- Familiar with NEC, IEEE/ANSI, IEC, and other international standards
- Proficient in Power System Automation, DCS, PLC, and SCADA controls
- Strong command of English for analysis, presentations, and technical advancements
- Experienced with ETAP or similar software and Microsoft Office
