Electrical & Instrument Technician – Energy & Infrastructure
Location: Cumbria

Are you an experienced Electrical & Instrument Technician looking for a new challenge in a cutting-edge energy environment? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established infrastructure business operating multiple UK energy sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out Planned Maintenance (PM) activities as per site maintenance schedules.
  • Perform both preventive and breakdown maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate daily with permit signatories to prepare permit requests, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain HV distribution systems, rotating equipment, and associated control systems.
  • Write and authorise safety documentation for HV system work.
  • Safely isolate electrical systems and maintain LV rotating equipment.
  • Conduct maintenance on hazardous area equipment.
  • Deliver solutions within agreed timeframes while ensuring cost efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in a continuous process or production environment.
  • NVQ / Apprenticeship in Electrical or Instrumentation.
  • Strong fault-finding, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow structured procedures and processes to meet operational targets.
  • Familiarity with Safe Systems of Work, including permit to work processes, risk assessments, and method statements.
