Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and strategic Sales & Business Development Director to drive growth and secure major contracts for a leading steel fabrication yard in Perak, Malaysia. The primary focus will be on securing projects for onshore modules, floating facility modules, and renewable energy structures (HVDC/HVAC). The ideal candidate will have experience within an EPC contracting environment, a strong understanding of the competitive landscape, and the ability to craft winning strategies in collaboration with the Strategy, Tendering, and Estimating teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify market opportunities and develop strategies to secure projects for the fabrication yard.

  • Engage and build relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic capture plans to win major projects.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align business development efforts with company capabilities and objectives.

  • Conduct competitive analysis to position the company effectively in the market.

  • Drive negotiations and manage high-value contracts, including EPC Lump Sum contracts.

  • Oversee the full business development lifecycle, from lead identification to contract closure.

  • Support tendering and estimating teams with market intelligence and client insights.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience in Sales & Business Development within an EPC Contractor environment.

  • Strong background in fabrication yards, processes, onshore and floating facility projects, and/or renewables.

  • Proven track record of securing major contracts in international markets.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Deep understanding of market trends and competitive positioning.

  • Experience managing complex tenders and high-value contract negotiations.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute market entry strategies.

  • Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
