Role Overview
As a Cost Control Specialist, you will play a key role in monitoring project budgets, costs, and financial processes, ensuring compliance with best practices and industry standards. Working closely with project managers, finance teams, and suppliers, you will help maintain cost efficiency and financial integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee invoice processing, approvals, and supplier coordination in line with cost control procedures.

Work closely with finance teams to manage commitments, payments, accruals, and dispute resolution.

Assist in implementing and integrating a new cost management system.

Develop and maintain cost control procedures following international best practices.

Support procurement and contract management, including tendering, contract selection, and change management.

Track and analyse project expenditure, forecasting, earned value, and budget variances.

Generate cost reports and dashboards, integrating data with financial systems.

Provide in-depth variance analysis, contingency tracking, and financial trend assessments.

Prepare comprehensive monthly cost reports detailing financial performance and key cost activities.

Ensure clear communication of financial insights to project stakeholders, including senior management.

Promote continuous improvement by providing feedback on cost control processes.

Uphold high standards of health, safety, security, and environmental compliance, while maintaining ethical integrity.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Strong expertise in cost control within large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.

In-depth knowledge of cost engineering principles, including budgeting, forecasting, change management, and earned value systems.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse international teams, finance departments, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Proficiency in cost control tools such as Excel, Power BI, and other project financial systems.

Experience with financial reporting, variance analysis, and cost reconciliation.

Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently with minimal supervision.
