Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Contracts Lead (Claims) to manage contract claims, disputes, and post-award commercial matters for multi-billion-dollar lump sum major energy projects. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in contract claims management, strong legal and dispute resolution expertise, and the ability to draft well-documented commercial correspondences.
Key Responsibilities:

Claims & Dispute Resolution:
- Lead and manage contract claims and disputes, ensuring alignment with contractual terms and project policies.
- Analyze, prepare, and negotiate claims and variations with contractors and stakeholders.
- Provide strategic recommendations for dispute resolution, including arbitration and legal proceedings where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with contract provisions, risk assessments, and claim mitigation strategies.

Contract Administration & Commercial Management:
- Review and analyze contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with project execution plans.
- Draft, review, and issue contractual correspondence, position papers, and legal documentation related to claims.
- Develop and maintain detailed claim reports, summaries, and risk assessments for senior management review.
- Work closely with project teams to identify potential contract risks and mitigate disputes proactively.

Stakeholder Coordination & Leadership:
- Collaborate with legal teams, project managers, contractors, and senior stakeholders to resolve contractual claims efficiently.
- Act as a key advisor on contractual and legal matters, providing expert guidance to internal teams.
- Foster a collaborative working environment with contractors and project personnel, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in contract claims management for multi-billion-dollar lump sum major energy projects (post-award).
- Strong knowledge of contract law, dispute resolution, and commercial risk management.
- Experience in legal and dispute claims resolution (advantageous).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong ability to draft and review well-documented commercial correspondences.
- Expertise in contract claims analysis, risk assessment, and dispute mitigation.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Soft Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead teams and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and handle complex contractual challenges.
