Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Contracts Lead to manage and oversee contract administration for a major onshore oil and gas construction project with a capital expenditure exceeding USD $1B. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of contract management experience in large-scale oil and gas projects, including brownfield work, and demonstrate expertise in contract negotiation, administration, and claims management.
Key Responsibilities:

Contracts Administration & Management:
- Review, draft, negotiate, and manage contractual commitments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, project policies, and relevant industry standards.
- Lead contract change management, including preparing position papers, board submissions, and claims documentation.
- Monitor contract performance, tracking obligations and deliverables to mitigate risks and ensure successful execution.

Dispute Resolution & Claims Management:
- Analyze contractual disputes, provide recommendations, and support claims resolution.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to develop strategies for commercial risk mitigation.
- Prepare and review claims submissions, ensuring timely resolution.

Stakeholder Coordination & Negotiation:
- Collaborate with multi-cultural project teams, EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Act as a key point of contact for contract-related inquiries, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives.
- Provide contractual guidance to internal teams, resolving issues effectively.

Project Execution & Reporting:
- Work independently to manage complex contractual tasks, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality of contract documentation.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of contracting strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Develop summary documents and reports on contract commitments, risks, and financial implications for management review.
- Ensure all contract management activities align with project timelines, budgets, and operational goals.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Discipline.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of broad contract management experience in major oil and gas projects.
- Proven experience working on large construction projects (>USD $1B CAPEX), including brownfield projects.
- Prior experience managing contracts in multi-cultural environments with international stakeholders.
- Technical Skills:
- Expert knowledge of contract administration principles, theories, and concepts.
- Strong ability to review, draft, and negotiate commercial and contractual documents.
- Experience in claims management, dispute resolution, and contract change management.
- Ability to prepare position papers, board submissions, and management reports.
