Automation Engineer
Location: Surrey, UK (Minimum 4 days/week onsite, non-negotiable)
Contract: Initial 12-month contract (Outside IR35)
Rate: Competitive/Negotiable
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support a major Aramco project during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase. This role involves designing state-of-the-art control systems, ensuring compliance with Aramco standards, and working closely with clients, vendors, and multi-discipline teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop control system specifications ensuring compliance with Aramco and industry standards.
- Design control system deliverables, including P&IDs and Instrument Lists.
- Collaborate with clients & vendors to define system requirements and package interfaces.
- Conduct risk assessments (SIL, LOPA, HAZOP) and prepare ICSS technical requisitions.
- Assist in creating Process Control Narratives and Cause & Effect diagrams.
- Work with electrical teams and MCC to determine I/O requirements.
- Support multi-center project execution and brownfield onshore projects.
Requirements
✔ Proven experience in Automation Engineering—preferably on Aramco projects.
✔ Strong understanding of control system design & FEED phase execution.
✔ Expertise in IEC 61508 & IEC 61511 standards.
✔ Hands-on experience with SIL, LOPA, and HAZOP assessments.
✔ Ability to develop technical specifications, bid evaluations, and ICSS requisitions.
✔ Brownfield onshore project experience is highly desirable.
✔ Experience working in multi-discipline, multi-center project environments.
