Role Overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to play a key role in shaping and managing a structured development programme for early-career engineers. This role will be pivotal in designing and executing a comprehensive training initiative, ensuring the next generation of engineering talent is equipped with the skills and expertise required to succeed in a dynamic industry.

Working closely with leadership and business teams, you will oversee recruitment, competency development, training design, and innovation capabilities, all while leading a dedicated team within the Academy.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Programme Development

  • Support the leadership team in determining the structure, intake numbers, and budget for the Associate Engineer Programme in alignment with business needs.
  • Contribute to the design and planning of a structured development programme, ensuring it delivers strong technical and professional growth opportunities.

Recruitment & Talent Development

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to shape and execute an effective recruitment process for engineering associates.
  • Ensure the seamless delivery of the programme, including evaluations, feedback collection, and continuous improvement.

Competency & Training Frameworks

  • Assist in defining competency frameworks for key technical and leadership roles within the business.
  • Design and refine training initiatives that enhance technical, managerial, and leadership capabilities.

Innovation & Research Development

  • Work closely with internal teams to enhance research and development efforts, enabling the adoption of new technologies and process improvements.

Team Leadership & Succession Planning

  • Manage and develop the Academy team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring a pipeline of future leaders.
  • Oversee volunteer engagement within the programme, driving collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience for degree holders or 8 years for diploma holders.
  • Strong understanding of engineering disciplines and workforce development.
