Are you an expert in asset management with a strong focus on the power and water sectors? We are seeking an Asset Management Expert - Qatar to leverage strategic asset management practices for optimizing lifecycle efficiency, reliability, and return on investment for Qatar-based power and water assets. In this role, you will ensure that the assets align with broader business objectives and sustainability standards.
Key Responsibilities
Qatar Assets Management
- Ensure sustained excellence in risk management, operations, environmental health and safety (EH&S), commercial, and financial performance for all assigned assets.
- Provide governance and support for the local asset portfolio, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and policies and procedures.
- Execute Asset Management strategies to optimize the operational, commercial, and financial performance of the asset portfolio in alignment with overarching priorities.
- Support the deployment and integration of innovative processes and technologies to enhance asset performance.
- Assist in maintaining a comprehensive asset register incorporating relevant asset information and ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Manage lifecycle optimization of assets across development, operations, life extension, and decommissioning phases to maximize value and sustainability.
- Monitor and report on KPIs and other metrics, assisting in identifying deficiencies and implementing improvements.
- Perform root cause analyses on underperforming assets and develop actionable plans to improve performance, aligning with the strategic guidance of the Asset Management department.
- Formulate and implement strategies to enhance the value and financial returns of local assets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Foster relationships with local stakeholders, regulators, and industry leaders to support business opportunities and ensure regulatory compliance.
Analytical Ability
- Provide insights on detailed problems, offering process improvements and operational advice.
- Analyze complex, uncertain problems, and offer operational solutions.
- Correlate different asset variables and produce cogent analysis to inform decision-making.
Monitoring & Controlling
- Manage all aspects of monitoring, linking, coordinating, and control processes to implement corrective actions that maximize business contributions.
Strategic Contribution
- Ensure effective cascading of the divisional strategy into asset business plans, ensuring alignment with broader strategic goals and integration with other interfacing strategies.
Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Support and contribute to budgeting, reporting, and controlling for Asset Management, including taking corrective actions for significant projects.
- Assist in the yearly budget preparation for the Asset Management department and local assets, monitoring financial performance indicators against the budget.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Assist in developing and implementing policies, systems, processes, and procedures to meet business requirements while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Continuous Improvement
- Advise management on potential continuous improvement opportunities for systems, processes, and practices, considering global standards and changing business environments.
Reporting
- Ensure all department reports are prepared timely and accurately, meeting requirements, policies, and quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering from a reputable university. Preference for candidates with an MBA or professional certificates (e.g., ACCA, CFA).
- Experience:
- 12 years of experience in similar roles within large, preferably multi-national companies.
- At least 4 years in progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.
