About the Role
A leading global engineering company is seeking an experienced Application Engineer, AVEVA E&I to manage, configure, and optimize digital engineering tools for large-scale offshore projects. This role focuses on the setup, administration, troubleshooting, and integration of specialist engineering software to ensure seamless project execution.
The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, operations, and construction teams to drive digital efficiency across complex projects. Key Responsibilities
Software Administration & Engineering Integration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of engineering software for offshore projects.
- Manage system integrations across electrical, instrumentation, P&ID, and 3D engineering tools to ensure data consistency.
- Develop customized solutions and work instructions to enhance software usability and efficiency.
Project Support & Coordination
- Work closely with engineering, project management, procurement, HSE, and construction teams to ensure smooth digital project execution.
- Anticipate potential issues and implement preventative actions to minimize disruptions.
- Support project management in risk assessments and technical issue resolution.
- Interface with vendors to stay ahead of software developments and drive continuous improvement.
Training & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide training and guidance to engineering teams on software best practices and functionalities.
- Act as a technical advisor, clarifying software design intent and recommending alternative solutions when needed.
- Participate in project meetings, vendor discussions, and engineering reviews to optimize project delivery.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Ensure regulatory requirements and engineering best practices are met.
- Contribute to the enhancement of work methodologies and procedures for improved digital efficiency.
- Manage software licenses and project planning for engineering applications.
Ideal Candidate Profile
✅ Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Computer Science.
- 5+ years of experience working with engineering software solutions in offshore, Oil & Gas, or energy infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of engineering software integrations across multiple disciplines.
✅ Technical Expertise:
- Hands-on experience with electrical & instrumentation engineering software and database management.
- Proficiency in system administration and configuration of engineering applications.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in offshore projects.
✅ Soft Skills & Leadership:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and lead digital initiatives within engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and training skills for cross-functional collaboration.
